Why PSYCH-K® Should Be Learned From Real Live Teachers, Part 2

Yesterday I posted a comment from a blogger called Woodwhisperer, who questioned the unavailability of books that teach PSYCH-K® and the necessity of going to workshops to learn it.

It was followed by a response by Elizabeth Powers, a certified PSYCH-K® Instructor. Here are couple more messages before I move on to something else:

Hi. I have only recently attended the basic workshop.

I found out about psych-k from YouTube. And after studying the clips
and taking notes, I taught myself somewhat how to at least do one of
the techniques. However, after attending the 2 day workshop, I can see
why it isn't in a book. You really need the workshop environment to
grasp and put into practice what is being taught. And a trained
instructor makes a huge difference. I believe personally, if it was
sold as a book, and dvd, the effectiveness and reputation of this
incredible modality would be diluted and less people would benefit from
it. It is a slow climb to get this out to the world, but it is at
least keeping it effective. I mean just imagine if thousands of people
tried to learn it from a book and practice on their friends and they
don't get results. Every time you mentioned PSYCH-K to someone, they
would say "oh yeah I've tried that, it doesn't work".

Just my opinion.

Good day, I am responding to your query because I have had a number of
people (I live in a small community) ask similar questions. It is
interesting how fees always seem to come up, yet the same people
requesting the learning for free, or less expensive can find money for
other "new age" medications or modalities. I have found that within
ourselves, if we are looking and find an answer to what we are looking
for, like PSYCH-K, we put up some of the blocks that PSYCH-K helps
change by bringing in the money quotient.
What if someone asks this question about workshops, well they have
made a first step. One could ask where they are, maybe do some muscle
testing if this is right for them? If the facilitator has done the
advanced class can they spend a momet in surrogation to balance
anything for this person?
If one reads the Statement of Principles, Available to anyone from
http://www.windhorseawareness.com/psych-k.html website it helps put
things in order.
As to the teaching, I feel, as a facilitator in several modalities
including advanced PSYCH-K and PER-K, that it is good to keep the
fundamentals clean. It would be very difficult to teach only through
video or books as each individual already has all of their own biasis
and concious/subconcios beliefs that may hinder the movement and
growth and beauty that occurs in a group, societal setting such as the
workshops.
One should acknowledge I think that all of paths are the right ones. I
do not have a surplus of money, but when needed the money shows up,
especially if I prioritise right.
I have to look at myself and see if I am attracting people who ask
these questions to resolve them for myself? Quite often yes. Be clear
on what you are offering perhaps?
I met Rob Williams in California. I appreciated his devotion to what
he was striving for which more than anything I believe was a healthy
world community. I speak several languages and to me not following his
procedure as he has chosen is sort of like badly translating something
important, it can be unhealthy for all sides in the discussion.
Send him an email, he is human, and can respond. Send the question to
Larry Valmore. This is how a community learns, grows and expands.
Participating in change is healthy, not participating in this change
is sad.
I am very glad you brought this up and thank you for allowing me to
share a few thoughts.

Thanks to all who have taken the time to write and to Woodwhisperer who brought up this issue.
